What is a “plug”?

A “plug”, a.k.a. sponsored content, is a description or narrative paid for and often provided by an entity (usually a related organization, agency, company, etc.). The acronym/initialism and its expansion, categories and tags are not sponsored content. The sponsored runs below the acronym/initialism and its expansion.

Illustrations

Listings associated with sponsored content feature an illustration that is chosen from our collections. In the near future we will produce custom illustrations as well. We would consider outside illustrations that are consistent with the site’s aesthetic (e.g., white or transparent background, minimalist, narrow lines, etc.); for these, we reserve the right of approval.

Images + Video

Sponsored content can include an image (e.g., a photograph or video) within the body of the description or narrative. A photograph cannot function as a featured image (i.e., visible in the scrolling lists or cards pages that depict multiple listings); we will still use the assigned illustration here.

Formatting Guidelines

Sponsored content must conform to the aesthetic and overall sensibilities of the initials.ai site.

  • WORD COUNT. A generous number, but only so many words (TBD).
  • FONTS. Our fonts and font-sizes (these will be automatically converted).
  • HEADINGS. Same rules.
  • IMAGES. Can contain 0, 1, or 2 images or photos, at least 800 px wide; larger photos will be automatically sized to a proportional width of 800 px.
  • VIDEO. We can embed Youtube and Vimeo. Maybe some others as well.
