Peritoneal Dialysis uses the patient’s peritoneal membrane as a semi-permeable exchange surface to remove waste and excess fluid. Dialysate solution instilled into the peritoneal cavity absorbs toxins and is then drained, offering a home-based alternative for renal replacement therapy.
