Darmstadtium

Darmstadtium is a synthetic chemical element first created in 1994 by scientists at the GSI Helmholtz Centre for Heavy Ion Research in Darmstadt, Germany. As a superheavy element, darmstadtium is extremely unstable and highly radioactive. Its most stable known isotope, darmstadtium-281, has a half-life of only about 20 seconds. It has no practical applications outside of scientific research.
