Boron

Boron compounds, especially boron carbide (B4C), are effective in producing green light in pyrotechnics. Boron makes possible safer alternatives to the toxic barium-based compounds traditionally used for green flames in fireworks and flares. Boron-based pyrotechnics have shown higher spectral purity, producing a more vivid green color compared to traditional formulations.
