Abdominal

From an anatomical perspective, the abdominal region refers to the area between the thorax (chest) and pelvis, encompassing several major organs. It is bounded by the diaphragm superiorly and the pelvic brim inferiorly. The abdominal cavity houses key digestive organs, including the stomach, liver, pancreas, intestines, and kidneys, as well as major blood vessels such as the aorta and inferior vena cava.

From a physiological standpoint, the abdominal region is involved in numerous essential functions, including digestion, nutrient absorption, detoxification, metabolism, and waste excretion. The abdominal muscles also support posture, movement, and protection of internal organs, while the autonomic nervous system regulates activities like gastrointestinal motility and secretion.
